We are a month into 2017 (basically), and I've noticed there's a new fitness trend on the rise (spinners will get the pun). The typical "hit the gym" new year's reso was done a little differently by many this year.
Spinning has become the new go-to fitness regime, and its increasingly becoming noticeable with new studios opening up all around the city.
Cardio is hard yo - it's definitely my least favourite part of a workout. It is such a hassle to push yourself through a cardio portion.
But the upside with spinning is there are trained instructors pumping you up and leading you through the struggle. A combination of good music, amped instructors and cute spaces - Spinning won a place in my heart.
Here are five studios in Toronto where you can spin your heart out...
Spinco is located near Yonge and Eglinton. This spin experience allows you to spin it out in the dark to up-beat curated playlists. Check out its prices and schedules, and book your spot online via its website.
This studio has been around for a while. CYKL is spevial because of a feature called RealRyder experience. This means the bikes allow you to actually lean into turns. The movement heightens the experience for the rider - at any experience level.
Spokehaus stresses the importance of working out your body and mind. This low-impact/ high-intensity workout will get your body and psyche in shape. Plus - you can buy the cutest workout gear via its shop.
This studio is opening its Toronto doors on March 2, along King west. With a number of locations opening up across North America SoulCycle is deff one of the leaders in Spin Fitness. Can't wait to try out the new studio.
1. Energia Athletics
This studio not only offers spin classes, but also yoga and a running club. What makes Energia different, is the way it incorporates a large screen playing outdoor images, giving riders the feel of being outdoors throughout their spin. For more information check out its website.
So this year get off your butt and get on a bike. Spin #ForTheWin.
